It’s common to feel unsure about whether counselling or coaching is the right kind of support.
Both offer space to reflect and grow, but they serve different purposes and work in different ways.
This page is here to help you make a choice that feels informed and steady.
Counselling offers a therapeutic space to explore emotional experiences, patterns, and difficulties in depth.
It often focuses on understanding the past and present, processing emotions, and supporting mental health and emotional wellbeing.
Counselling may be a good fit if you want to:
• Explore overwhelming or distressing emotions
• Work through past experiences or trauma
• Understand anxiety, low mood, or relationship patterns
• Process grief, identity shifts, or significant life events
• Have ongoing therapeutic support
Counselling provides a contained, confidential space where emotional safety and therapeutic boundaries are central.
Coaching is forward-focused and structured.
Rebuilding Your Way Coaching is designed for late-diagnosed neurodivergent professionals who feel misaligned, burnt out, or unsure what comes next.
Rather than focusing on emotional processing,
Coaching supports you to:
• Rebuild self-trust after long-term masking
• Clarify what feels sustainable now
• Realign work and life with your capacity
• Redefine success in a way that reflects who you are
• Move forward with thoughtful, practical direction
Coaching does not involve clinical therapy or treatment of mental health conditions.
Instead, it offers a reflective and collaborative process centred on clarity, alignment, and sustainable change.
You don’t need to be completely certain before reaching out.
An initial conversation or first session can help us explore what you’re hoping for and whether counselling or coaching feels most appropriate.
If it becomes clear that a different form of support would be better suited, this will be discussed openly and thoughtfully.
There is no pressure to commit beyond the first step.
Choosing support is an important decision.
A first session offers a calm, contained space to consider what you need- without pressure or obligation.
If you decide not to continue, that choice is fully respected.

To work ethically and safely, clear boundaries are essential.
• I cannot work with the same person as both counsellor and coach
• This would be considered a dual relationship
• If you are receiving counselling with me, I cannot also offer coaching, and vice versa
If coaching feels appropriate but counselling may also be helpful, I can suggest other therapists or services.
If, during coaching, therapeutic support becomes more appropriate, I will discuss this and offer referrals rather than continuing inappropriately.
