My Approach

You don't have to choose.

Counselling and coaching, brought together around you.

You don't need to know whether you need counselling or coaching before you get in touch.

You don't need to arrive with a goal, a plan or all the answers.

We start where you are and work from there.

A different way of working

For a while, I offered counselling and coaching as two separate services.

I did this because I recognised that they can offer different things, and I wanted people to have a choice.

But over time, I realised that separating them didn't always feel right. It could also leave people with another decision to make:

“Do I need counselling or coaching?”

And sometimes, you simply don't know. You might need space to understand what's happening for you. You might already understand what's happening and want practical support to move forward.

Or you might need a combination of both.

So I've redesigned my offer.

Rather than asking you to choose between two separate services, I bring my counselling and coaching skills together within one flexible, collaborative approach.

The focus isn't on choosing the right service. It's on understanding what you need.

How we work together

There isn't a set programme you have to follow. Our work is shaped around you — your experiences, your needs, your goals and what feels important to you.

Depending on where you are, we might spend time:

Understanding- Making sense of your thoughts, feelings, experiences and patterns.

Exploring- Looking at your needs, values, identity, relationships and what matters to you.

Processing- Having space to work through difficult experiences and emotions.

Finding clarity- Making sense of what's feeling confusing, overwhelming or stuck.

Building self-awareness- Understanding yourself and recognising your strengths and needs.

Moving forward- Exploring goals, decisions, boundaries and practical changes when you're ready.

Sometimes the focus may be more therapeutic. Sometimes it may be more focused on moving forward. Often, it will be a combination of both.

Neurodivergent-affirming counselling

I work with many clients who are neurodivergent, or beginning to explore that part of themselves.

You might have spent years trying to fit into ways of thinking, coping, or living that do not actually work for you.

Counselling can be a space to understand yourself differently, without pressure to change who you are. It can also be a space to explore masking, burnout, late diagnosis, identity, relationships, emotional overwhelm, and what support might look like when it actually fits you.

Trauma and Rewind Technique

I also offer support for people who have experienced distressing or overwhelming events.

I am trained in the Rewind Technique, which can support the processing of traumatic memories without needing to talk through every detail of what happened.

This can be helpful if talking about the experience feels too much, or if you want a more contained way of working with trauma.

The pace is always led by you, with a focus on safety, choice, and reducing distress in a way that feels manageable.

Creative and inner work

Sometimes it is hard to put things into words.

You might know something does not feel right, but explaining it can feel overwhelming, exposing, or just out of reach.

This is where we can work more creatively. We might use simple tools such as imagery, drawing, visual prompts, or gentle reflection to explore what is coming up for you in a way that feels safer and more manageable.

There is no pressure to explain everything perfectly. We can find a way in that works for you.

Inner child and past experiences

We can also explore the younger parts of you that may have experienced hurt, confusion, emotional neglect, or not feeling fully understood.

These parts can sometimes show up in how you cope now, especially around confidence, relationships, boundaries, people-pleasing, self-worth, and how safe it feels to be yourself.

This is not about going back and reliving everything.

It is about understanding those parts of you with more compassion, and noticing what they might need now.

We can do this slowly, carefully, and only when it feels right for you.

You don't need to know what you need.

You don't have to decide whether counselling or coaching is right for you.

You don't have to have everything figured out.

Just start with a conversation.
