I’m a counsellor and coach, a mum, and the co-founder of a community interest company dedicated to providing neurodivergent support for adults and families.
About me and why I do this work
My journey into counselling began through my own personal struggles, where I discovered how transformative it can be to be in an environment free from judgment, where you are not expected to mask or please anyone, and can simply be yourself. This experience profoundly shaped my approach, as I aim for those who come to me to feel seen, understood, and safe enough to be honest about their true feelings.
Before becoming a counsellor, I dedicated several years to working in the care and mental health sector, offering support to adults with learning disabilities and complex needs. This background provided me with a solid foundation in person-centred, compassionate support, which is integral to my practice.
Clients often describe me as down to earth, honest, and non-judgemental, qualities that I naturally bring into the room.
As a mum, I understand how tough, lonely, and overwhelming parenting can be, especially when neurodivergence is involved.
Neurodivergence is an area of deep personal and professional passion for me. My daughter was diagnosed with ADHD and autism as a teenager after years of struggling to understand why her experiences were so much more challenging. Her journey prompted me to recognize that I had been masking much of my life, leading to my own ADHD diagnosis later on.
I empathize with the mix of grief, confusion, and relief that can accompany late recognition. I work with many adults exploring identity, self-understanding, and self-acceptance through this lens, including parents navigating their own experiences while trying to support their children.
Additionally, I offer trauma counselling for those who have experienced distressing events, using a gentle, contained, and individualized approach. I am trained in the Rewind Technique, which provides a non-intrusive method for processing traumatic memories without the need to delve into every detail. This technique is particularly beneficial for individuals who find discussing trauma overwhelming or triggering.
Counselling offers a safe and supportive space to explore the sources of your pain, confusion, or feelings of being stuck.
My approach to neurodivergent support is warm, down-to-earth, and affirming.
We work at your pace, making sense of your feelings, patterns, and experiences without pressure or judgement.
I offer counselling for adults experiencing trauma, overwhelm, burnout, anxiety, low self-worth, and the emotional impact of neurodivergence or late diagnosis.
Together, we explore what may be holding you back and work towards finding a way forward that feels manageable and authentic.
Alongside counselling, I offer Rebuilding Your Way Coaching for late-diagnosed neurodivergent adults seeking reflective, future-focused support, particularly those navigating burnout, identity shifts, parenting, or a growing sense that something no longer quite fits.
This coaching is not centred on productivity, habit optimisation, or pushing yourself to function better. Instead, it offers a structured space to pause, take stock, and consider what comes next in a way that respects your needs, capacity, and lived experience.
Together, we explore what feels misaligned, what may have been shaped by expectation rather than choice, and what might need more space, rest, or permission.
The focus is on rebuilding self-trust and designing a life and work structure that feels sustainable rather than performative.
My approach is humanistic, neurodivergent-affirming, and strengths-based.
Sessions are collaborative and paced around your capacity, with an emphasis on clarity, direction, and authentic alignment rather than therapeutic processing.
